Meet Rachel
Hi! My name is Rachel Hizon, and I’m originally from Port Charlotte, FL. I recently graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology, where I’m pursued a degree in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Biology. I’ve always had a strong passion for math, and after taking advanced math courses throughout high school, I continued to build on that foundation in college.
I began tutoring after my freshman year and gained experience working at a tutoring center before transitioning into private tutoring. Since then, I’ve built my own tutoring business, helping students better understand math, improve their confidence, and achieve their academic goals.
My approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps while tailoring each session to the individual student. Throughout college, I’ve successfully balanced three jobs at once, which has strengthened my time management, organization, and reliability—qualities I bring into every tutoring session.
I’m also a very crafty person and enjoy creative projects, as well as playing multiple instruments, which reflects my creativity and discipline in everything I do. I strive to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and ultimately growing both academically and confidently.
